Vial Life: A Refugee Student Newspaper

Over the past 3 weeks, students at the Refugee Education Chios High School have been taking a Journalism Course.

Involving training in key journalistic skills, giving interviews, taking photographs, gathering opinion polls, designing advertising material, editing, printing and publishing, the course culminated in the production of a newspaper on a topic chosen and defined by the students.

They chose to focus on the dire conditions in VIAL REFUGEE CAMP, Chios.

On World Human Rights Day, we’re excited to share this publication with you. It holds rare, intimate and eyewitness accounts of the increasingly shocking conditions experienced by the thousands living inside.

As winter approaches, major concerns include shelter, food, and sanitation.

Read, download and share this important newspaper: both an impressive creative production and shocking exposé of injustice at Europe’s borders.
